Which ticket to book, and how

Buy a dated single-day ticket on the official site before you fly: the gate price is higher than the website, and on UAE weekends and public holidays the park sells to capacity. The mistake people make is reflexively buying a Yas multi-park pass — it only saves money if you’ll genuinely do three or four of the island’s parks within its six-day window. For one thrill day, a single Ferrari World ticket from about AED 345 (~£70) is the cheaper call. If you’re arriving after lunch or visiting on a holiday weekend, add a Fast Track pass rather than burning the afternoon in the single-rider line for Formula Rossa.

The other thing worth knowing before you commit: this is an entirely indoor, air-conditioned park under one vast red roof, which makes it the rare Abu Dhabi sight you can do in 45°C July heat without melting. That’s a real reason to slot it into a summer trip when the Corniche and the Grand Mosque are off the table by midday.

Worth it if you’ll ride the coasters

Be at the gates for the 11:00 opening and go straight to Formula Rossa — the world’s fastest roller coaster at 240 km/h — and Flying Aces before the queues build through the middle of the day. Allow most of a full day to ride everything, or four to five hours if you only want the headline coasters. Don’t stack two Yas thrill parks back to back; each is a full day, and Ferrari World plus an afternoon by the hotel pool beats cramming Warner Bros World in alongside it.

If you’ll ride the big coasters it earns the ticket, and Formula Rossa is the genuine draw — there’s nothing else like the launch. If you’re not a coaster person, the GT-style rides and the Maranello theming are fun but you’re paying full price for a quieter day, so make it a half-day instead. And the standing caveat for any UAE trip: the FCDO advises against all but essential travel to the whole country as of June 2026, so reconfirm the live advice on GOV.UK before you book.
